Alcide P. Giovacchini, 88, of Elmhurst.  Found rest September 17, 2011.  WWII Veteran of the U.S. Army – European Theater.  Devoted husband of the late Rochelle, nee Ferretti.  Loving father of Michael (Margaret) Giovacchini and the late Linda (survived by Paul) Stone.  Cherished grandfather of Michelle Giovacchini.  Dearest brother of William (Mary Anne) Giova and Lee (Enzo) Berti.  Fond brother-in-law of Lena (the late Carlo) Pighini and Norine (Don) Smith.  Proud uncle of many nieces and nephews.  Family and friends may visit Monday, Sept. 19, 4 to 9 PM at the Pedersen-Ryberg Mortuary, 435 N. York Rd., Elmhurst, where prayers will begin Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 9 AM followed by a Celebration of Funeral Mass, 10 AM, at Mary Queen of Heaven Church, Elmhurst. Fr. Anthony Taschetta officiating.
