Preston “Pres” Herbert Pingel, age 80, after a courageous battle with cancer, passed away peacefully at his home on June 7, 2011.  Pres was born to the late Paul and Ethel Pingel on September 19, 1930.  He is survived by his devoted wife Dorothy Lorraine, his forever “Hun”; heroic father of Sandy Pingel, Nancy (Paul) Oscar, Paul (Kristen Koby) Pingel, David (Shirley) Pingel and Lisa Pingel; proud and loving Papa to his treasured grandchildren: Brent (fiancée Elizabeth), Derek, Nick, Stephanie, Meagan, Jessica, Danny, Sarah, Eric, Kaia, Isabella and the late Elizabeth; dear brother of Perrene (the late Johnny) Klemm, Pam (the late Pat) Barry, Phil (Diane) Pingel, Priscilla (Lew) Woelke and the late Pauline Pingel, Paul Pingel Jr., Pernet (the late Jerry) Pingel; dear brother-in-law of Al (Helene) Smith, and the late Robert Smith and Marge Goble, and fond uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.  Pres touched the lives of countless friends, not only in his hometown, but as a “Winter Texan”.  He maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.  Those who were blessed to know him are invited to attend a celebration of his life on Sunday, June 12, 2011 from 12 p.m. until time of memorial service at 3:30 p.m. at the Pedersen-Ryberg Mortuary, 435 N.
