The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers.  You may choose only those items you desire.  However, any of the funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. 

If legal or other requirements mean you must purchase any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement  we provide  describing the funeral goods and services   selected.

This list does not include prices for certain items you may ask us to arrange for , such as cemetery or crematory services, flowers and newspaper notices.  The price for those items will be shown on your bill or the statement describing the funeral goods and services.  We charge you for our services in arranging for these items.

It is the policy of Pedersen-Ryberg Mortuary that there will be no open casket visitation with un-embalmed remains present.

Pedersen –Ryberg Mortuary makes no representations or warranties with regard to casket, our burial containers or other goods sold by the mortuary.  The warranties,  expressed or implied are warranties of the manufacturers, not of the mortuary.  No other warranties are implied by Pedersen-Ryberg Mortuary.

These disclosures are made in compliance with the requirement for disclosures as set for by the Federal Trade Commission.  Services and merchandise categories are established according to guidelines set forth by the Federal Trade Commission.

This booklet conforms to the Federal Trade Commissions rules concerning “Funeral Industry Practices” effective May 1, 1984

 

FULL  PACKAGE SELECTIONS:

These service  packages are available to all customers who purchase a casket and  cement container through our mortuary.    Packages do not include costs for Burial Merchandise, Sales Tax and Cash Advanced items. 

 

Traditional Burial Services:

Traditional One Day Viewing Package:                                                 $ 5,675

This package is an open casket visitation  at the mortuary for one afternoon and evening with ceremony held the following day either at the funeral home or a another facility. 
This selection includes: Services of the Funeral Director and Staff, Transfer to the Mortuary (within 30 miles), Embalming, Other Preparation of the Body, Use of Facilities for Visitation, Use of Facilities for Service the Following Day or Service in Other Facility, Hearse, Memorial Package and Mortuary Music.

This package selection is an open casket visitation  for two hours followed by  funeral ceremony  all taking place  in one day at the mortuary . 
This selection includes: Services of the Funeral Director and Staff, Transfer to the Mortuary (within 30 miles), Embalming, Other Preparation of the Body, Use of Facilities for Visitation, and Ceremony , Hearse, Memorial Package and Mortuary Music.

Traditional Viewing in Other Facility Package:                                         $ 3,800

This package selection is an open casket visitation and ceremony held at a church or other facility where visitation and ceremony takes place in one day.
This selection includes:  Services of the Funeral Director and Staff, Transfer to the Mortuary (within 30 miles), Embalming, Other Preparation of the Body, Transfer
and Set Up of Casketed Remains,  Hearse, and Memorial Package.

Traditional Cremation Packages:

Traditional One Day Viewing  with Cremation  Package                            $ 6,500


This package is described as a one day  open casket visitation at the mortuary for one  afternoon and evening with ceremony held the following day either at the mortuary or another facility followed by cremation. 
This selection includes: Services of the Funeral Director and Staff, Transfer to the Mortuary (within 30 miles), Embalming, Other Preparation of the Body, Use of Facilities for Visitation, Use of Facilities for Service the Following Day or Service in Other Facility, Hearse or Service Vehicle, Memorial Package ,  Mortuary Music, Rental Casket and Interior Parts, Cremation Fee and Cremation Permits.

 

Traditional Same Day Viewing Package with Cremation                           $  5,870

This package selection is an open casket visitation  for two hours followed by  funeral ceremony  concluding by 12 Noon    followed by cremation. 
This selection includes: Services of the Funeral Director and Staff, Transfer to the Mortuary (within 30 miles), Embalming, Other Preparation of the Body, Use of Facilities for Visitation,  Hearse or Service Vehicle, Memorial Package ,  Mortuary Music, Rental Casket and Interior Parts, Cremation Fee and Cremation Permits.

Traditional Same Day Viewing Package (Evening Visitation) with Cremation                 $ 6,250

This package selection is an open casket visitation from 3 to 9  with ceremony at the end of visitation followed by cremation.
This selection includes: Services of the Funeral Director and Staff, Transfer to the Mortuary (within 30 miles), Embalming, Other Preparation of the Body, Use of Facilities for Visitation,   Service Vehicle, Memorial Package ,  Mortuary Music, Rental Casket and Interior Parts, Cremation Fee and Cremation Permits.

Traditional Viewing in Other Facility Package  with Cremation                  $4,895                      

This package selection is an open casket visitation and ceremony held at a church or other facility where visitation and ceremony takes place in one day followed by cremation.
This selection includes:  Services of the Funeral Director and Staff, Transfer to the Mortuary (within 30 miles), Embalming, Other Preparation of the Body, Transfer and Set Up of Casketed Remains,  Hearse or Service Vehicle, Memorial Package , Rental Casket and Interior Parts, Cremation Fee and Cremation Permits.

Professional Services

Basic Services of  Funeral Director and Staff: …………………………... $ 1,650

The fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select.  A portion of this fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials and forwarding or receiving of remains.  

This fee includes:
Personnel available 24 Hours a Day to Respond to Initial Request for Service
]Arrangement Conference with Responsible Parties.
Coordination of Service Plans with Clergy, Cemetery and All Parties Involved in the Funeral Planning.
Clerical Assistance in Completing and Filing the Certificate of Death.
Obtaining Proper Permits for Disposition from the Local Registrar.
Completion of Social Security, Veterans Administration and /or Insurance Forms.

 

Embalming:…………………………………………………………$ 950
Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law.  Embalming is required by the mortuary for open casket viewing.  If you do not want embalming, you have the right to choose an arrangement which does not require you to pay for it such as a direct cremation, immediate burial or closed casket visitation.

 

Other Preparation:…………………………………………............$ 425
This charge is for all necessary procedures such as bathing of remains, application of cosmetics, dressing and placing of remains in the casket.  This includes any restoration when deemed necessary.


Alternative Preparation:………………………………………… $ 300
This charge applies when there is a closed casket and no embalming.  This includes bathing and topical disinfection of remains, dressing and placing of  remains in the casket.

 

Limited Preparation:…………………………………...................$ 150
This charge applies when casketed remains are shipped to the mortuary for open casket viewing.  In includes repositioning in the casket, cosmetic touch up and changes in hair dressing.

Rental Casket:
Our Mortuary offers traditional cremation services with a rental casket.  This charge includes: Use of the Casket, New Interior Parts, and Cremation Container.  The casket shell itself is not consumed in the cremation process.

Alternative Selections and Creamation Information:

Forwarding of Remains to Another Mortuary ……………………………..$ 1575

This charge includes: transfer of remains to mortuary within 30 mile radius; service of staff for family consultation; embalming, securing permits  and coordination with receiving funeral home.  It does not include services of the staff or use of the facilities for any visitation and/or rites prior to forwarding of the remains.  The following may apply to the final cost of this type of service:

This charge includes: transfer of remains to mortuary (30 mile radius); alternative preparation; temporary shelter /care; hearse to cemetery; basic services of staff; proportionate share of overhead costs; filing death certificate and obtaining necessary permit for disposition.  It does not include the use of facilities for viewing or for funeral rites/ceremonies at mortuary/cemetery.

If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container.  Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard , wood or  composition materials ( with or without an outside covering).  The container we provide are  mad of unfinished wood and/or fiberboard.
