Allyn Keith Austin

Allyn Keith Austin, born April 13, 1943 to Harriett and Kent Austin. Enlisted in the US Army May of 1965 and served until May of 1968. He worked at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital for 44 years in the Radiology Department and Information Service until his retirement. He married his wife Peggy and had a daughter, Kristin (Ryan) McKinley and son, Michael Austin. He was Papa to Colby, Katie, Savannah and Bennett. Allyn was preceded in death by his father Kent Austin and his brother Kent Austin, Jr. He loved the zoo and was seriously into genealogy and was a member in numerous clubs. He enjoyed reading and working in his vegetable garden. He once even signed up for the Police Academy, held by Elmhurst Police Dept.; did he have a good time!! Leslie Goddard was someone he always went out of his way to see. He enjoyed her historical interpretations on a famous strong woman from the past. Allyn was a staunch supporter for Veterans' Rights. He was a great man and will be missed by family and friends. He died on April 8, 2018 and will be buried on his 75th birthday, April 13, 2018 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois. Visitation will be held at the Pedersen Ryberg Mortuary, 435 N.
