Helen Burns, 94, of Elmhurst, formerly of Westland, Michigan, passed away Monday, Sept. 21, at Bridgeway Senior Living in Bensenville, IL. She is survived by two daughters, Judy and husband, Karl Koeneman, and Janice and her husband, Leonard Simpkins. Grandchildren are Jack (Diane) Hanchett, Angela Hanchett, Allison (David) Wiggins, Andrew (Carmela) Koeneman and the late Joseph Koeneman. Great grandchildren are Alaina Bottens, Jack Hanchett, and Danielle Hanchett. Her three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. She was much loved by many nieces and nephews and many friends. She loved to sing and dance. She will be missed by all who knew her and could join her in singing "You Are My Sunshine".
