Linda L. Albergo

April 18, 1945 - March 3, 2022

Linda Albergo, a beautiful, talented and loving soul, was called to heaven on March 3, 2022. A devoted wife and mother, Linda used her flair for design to make her house a home for her family. After retiring as a flight attendant for United Airlines, she followed her passion for figure skating both on the ice and as part-time staff at Rainbo Sports, helping budding young skaters, coaches and occasionally Olympic skaters find the right fit. At the same time, she took up the violin and later the viola, playing with a small group in Skokie. An avid gardener, she took a class in floral design and, after leaving Rainbo Sports, applied her love of flowers as a floral designer at Mariano's when the Skokie store opened. A lifelong theater buff and performer, Linda appeared in numerous community theater productions as a dancer, choreographer and singer with several groups, including the Village Theater Guild of Glen Ellyn, the Music Theater of Chicago and Theater on the Lake. It was during one of these productions that she met her "leading man," John, a role that endured for 37 1/2 years. Always seeking a creative outlet, Linda recently took up painting and began creating beautiful nature scenes, one of which she turned into a Christmas card last year. She is survived by her husband, her son, John, brother Martin, sisters-in-law Lisa Albergo and Anne Carlson, and brother-in-law Patrick Albergo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Shirley Carlson (nee Anderson). She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Visitation Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Pedersen Ryberg Funeral Home, 435 N. York St., Elmhurst  and where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 11:30 a.m.  Interment to follow at Mt. Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, IL
