Michael J. Principe, age 94, native of Franklin Park, IL; Veteran WWII , US Army Air Corps. Loving known to many as "Deacon Mike".  He was the beloved husband of 45 years to the late Annmarie, (nee Horn); devoted father of Meghan (Chris Purdy) Principe, the late Reneé Principe, the late Michelle Principe and the late Vivianne Castello; proud grandfather of Andrew  (Alexandria) Castello, Matthew (Emily) Castello, Michael (Claire Bourke) Castello and the late Stephanie; dear father in law to John (Leslie) Castello;  preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Mary, Fran, Anthony, Florence, Irene, Genevive, Frank and Anna;  loving uncle to many nieces and nephews;  devoted and loving "Dog Dad" to Charlie, Trudie and Millie; brother in law to Germaine (the late George) Coverick and Janet (Vladimir and the late Raymond "Skip) Horn.  Ordained to the Permanent Deaconate  in December 1978, serving St. Gertrude Parish, Franklin Park, IL and St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Bensenville, IL.  Visitation at the Pedersen Ryberg Funeral Home, 435 N. York St., Elmhurst on  Thursday, October 1, 2020  from 2:00  to 8:00 p.m. *Due to Covid restrictions, 50 people are allowed in the funeral home  at any one time. Kindly pay your respects to the family so that others by come in to pay their respects.   Lying in State Friday, October 2, 2020 from  10:00 a.m. until time of  Funeral Mass, 11:00 a.m.  at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, 9613 Schiller Blvd., Franklin Park, IL ** Due to Covid restrictions attendance at church is limited to 90 people. Those attending the Funeral Mass must register the day before at the funeral home. Entombment with Military Funeral Honors St. Joseph Mausoleum, River Grove, IL .
