Regina Buniak Prescott

Regina Buniak Prescott, longtime Elmhurst resident, went to be with her late husband Leonard (2013) in heaven on February 20, 2022 at the age of 98 years. She was an excellent cook and hosted many parties in their home for family and friends. Regina enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting, making many things for her family, friends, veterans and hospital newborns. Regina was born July 6, 1923 at her grandmother's home in Olyphant, PA . As a young woman, she attended secretarial school while working 2 jobs. She married her pen pal sailor Len; they lived a wonderful and devoted life together for over 68 years. She was a long-time employee of Marshall Field's and a volunteer at the Elmhurst American Legion. Regina also enjoyed going to casinos from Las Vegas to Atlantic City and from Nova Scotia to New Orleans. Regina was often "the life of the party" with her signature cocktail- the Old Fashioned. Regina is the Beloved Wife of the late Leonard; Loving Mother of Len III (Yixin) Prescott, Bill (Sandy) Prescott and Jeanne (Dave) Curtin; Proud Grandmother of Len IV ( Charlotte), the late Kristen, Sarah, Kaytee ( Danny), Matt (Jaz), Christine and Michael; Honored Great Grandmother of Karsyn, Oliver, Emma, Quincy, Leni, Tallulah, Owen and Ava; Dear Sister of the late Steve, Irene, Bebe and Bill. Visitation March 17, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Ukrainian Catholic Church, 5000 N. Cumberland Ave., Chicago, IL. Regina will be laid to rest with her husband Leonard at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois on Friday, March 18, 2022 in an interment service for family. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Joseph Ukrainian Catholic Church, 5000 N. Cumberland Ave., Chicago, IL 60656 would be appreciated.
