Rose Pennacchio

January 4, 1924 - April 26, 2017

Rose Pennacchio was ahead of her time in every way. An inspiring, brilliant, clever, warm, and giving woman who celebrated everyone's joy, earned the love and respect of all who met her, and gave her whole self to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family was everything to Rose, and she was everything to her family. She devoted her life to her loving husband, Albert. She wrote him a letter every day he fought in World War II, and their love never stopped growing. Albert devoted his life to Rose. He never missed an opportunity to serenade and sweep her on to the dance floor-- even when the dance floor was the kitchen or living room. They taught others how to love, be strong, and laugh. Their lessons and spirit live on in their children's and grandchildren's love stories. Rose was the very best, most patient, and giving mother to Bob, Doc, Trish, Al, Kitty, Cathy, and Rudy. Nurturing and always involved grandmother to Gina, Mike, Tony, Stephanie, Christine, Neil, Rachel, Justin, Holly, Joey, Diana, John, Alexis, Nathan, Liz, and Matt. Adoring great-grandmother to Nick, Matt, Giada, Isabella, Payslie, David, and Oliver. Rose loved her caregivers like family, and that's how they loved and cared for her. Jun was a devoted son to Rose, and he brought her so much comfort and support. Marie generously gave her time, heart, and warm spirit. Lola held a special place in Rose's heart. Visitation Thursday, April 27, at the Pedersen Ryberg Mortuary 435 N. York St., Elmhurst, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral Friday, April 28, beginning with prayers at the mortuary 9:00 a.m. and proceeding to St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Northlake, Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery. For info 630-834-1133
